THE APPOINTMENT OF YB DATO KEDAH STATE FINANCE

ALOR SETAR 4 Nov. – State financial officer Datuk Bakar Din was appointed as State Secretary (SUK) Kedah new replaces Datuk Mohd. Puat Mohd. Ali retired.

Meanwhile, the District Officer of Kota Setar, Datuk Sepiah Jesus appointed as State financial officer.

The award ceremony for the appointment of the Commission both completed the Cabinet Acting Chairman Sultan of Kedah, Tan Sri Tunku Effective Accomplishment at Istana Anak Bukit here today.

That also saw the award of the two Commission Members Acting Sultan of Kedah, Tan Sri Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani Accomplishment and Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.

Also present were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir and State Councillor.

"I will ensure that the entire State administration run smoothly and improve a few things such as the issue of the efficiency of the State administration.

"This issue I found to be a common complaint among community and I will correct it," he said.

According to him, he will also be assessing the question of efficiency of State spending, in addition to looking for ways to increase State revenue.

"State financial records management is in good condition except that we want to become more efficient and increase State revenue," he explained.

Bakar, 58, started his career as an administrative officer of the State on 1 July 1980 before his appointment held several key positions such as Director of the State Economic Planning Unit, the District Officer of Kota Setar and Deputy State Secretary (development).

All services in the State administration, he was involved with several investment missions such as the State Government in Japan, Taiwan, province of Ilocos Norte, Germany, Italy and the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Sepiah, 57, from Kampung Bukit, Kubang Pasu, commenced services on 1 October 1981 and was directly involved in the development of the State as the development of the Menara Alor Setar and the opening of the Bukit Kayu Hitam industrial area.
